Thank you for providing us with a home away from home. All the luxuries and trimmings of home were provided, including a fully equipped kitchen to a spa for the two legged variety and a kennel, toys and snacks for our beloved four legged addition! A stone through away from a dog friendly beach and a relaxing stroll to the lake. Couldn't have asked for better. We will definitely be returning and also recommending this home to all our friends.

The house has a beautiful layout, breezy and light – all a stone’s throw from the beach. Fantastic kitchen facilities and is incredibly well stocked with cooking utensils, trays, dishes, bowls, everything you might need to cook with. The decks are amazing. The back good for lounging and relaxing, and the front ideal for meals. Apart from the comfort and attention to detail, as dog lovers your house was a home away from home for our husky, Asha. She loved the trampolines, the garden and especially the toys that she inevitably found lying around the property. Best of all, she loved being able to exist alongside the humans instead of away from them. The way the house is planned allowed for her to be present at our meals and when we were relaxing, and our bedroom meant that she could sleep just outside our door on the balcony without being too far away from us. "We had such a great time at Benjamin's Beach House! The house is beautiful, stylish, spacious, well-equipped and extremely comfortable. There has been such great attention to detail in the planning of the house and the provision of all amenities you could need on holidays. The location is wonderful as well – just a hop, skip and jump over the sand-dune to the beautiful beach. Best of all, our two gorgeous dogs could join us in the house, in the yard, on the sand and in the water! It's great to have such a lovely place to stay near an off-leash beach. The weekend was fantastic! What a gorgeous spot! Really loved the house and beach. Felt like we were a million miles away from Sydney. It was so quiet and relaxing. "Benjamin's is a fantastic place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and just chill-out for a week. The house is comfortable and very well-equipped, has a great sun-drenched deck to while away the afternoon on, and is only a minute's walk up a sand-dune to then hit the beautiful Culburra Beach. As usual we loved our stay at Benjamin's Beachhouse. Besides being clean and chic with lots of natural light, it is so comfortable and cosy in winter. We love being two minutes from the beach and not having to put the dogs on their leads to get there. They love the expanse of sand and go bananas with joy, chasing each other around. The large north facing deck is ideal for them as they sleep outside and we can put their kennel and cushions there so they can cosy up, protected from the rain and wind. I'm also amazed at how comfortable the beds are and we always have such a good sleep there. I usually end up with a stiff back when I sleep on another bed. We will always go back to Benjamin's Beachhouse.- Cheryl June 08
We absolutely loved the house especially the back deck where we whiled away the May afternoons in the glorious sunshine, doing a bit of bird watching whoever flew into the yard. This was after having spent the morning fishing down at the beach, and our two dogs and myself frolicking in the waves and rockpools. We had a really relaxing time made so much more enjoyable in that once at the house we had very few reasons to go anywhere else maybe the next time we might venture a bit further, just maybe ! - Mary May 08
The house was clean, well designed and very well equipped. We are both “foodies”, so the kitchen provided nearly every convenience that we are used to. The location was excellent, being only a short walk to the beach, and even though it is not beach front, you can still hear the surf. The back yard was always full of beautiful parrots and birds during the day, and quiet enough at other times to know you are well away from Sydney. The “How to, What to” file located in the house, left no question unanswered. This was an invaluable reference for everything from restaurants, attractions and local services. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and didn't want to leave. You have well and truely catered for people and dogs alike. The house was more than we expected and had everything anyone could need. It was peaceful and relaxing soaking up the sun on the back deck after a walk along the beach, listening to the birds and the ocean. Tammy needed the rest during the day after trying to round up the waves in typical border collie style, and did just that in the shade of the trees in the backyard. BBQ's on the front deck were also enjoyable. We did some sightseeing around the local area, but with the house set up and the beach - we would have been happy staying in culburra and look forward to coming back for another holiday in the near future.-Carol April 08
Once again we absolutely loved our stay at Benjamin's Beach House. The house is so well equipped and is kept in fantastic condition. Our family spent Earth Hour on the front deck in the pitch black playing games and watching the falling stars - not easily seen in Sydney. BBH has the best of both worlds, it's nestled away in the beautiful green trees but yet only 1 minute walk to a fantastic clean beach. Leaving the stresses of Sydney behind us, we arrived at Benjamin's Beach House ready for and in desperate need of a weekend of relaxation. The house and location were ideal. Bosco our chocolate lab was in seventh heaven running and frolicking in the surf - something he is not able to do too easily in Sydney. He also enjoyed his excursions to Callala Beach and Greenwell Point for some local oysters and prawns. The garden was secure and he could happily sniff around too if we left him at home. Bosco has been sleeping a lot since his holiday. All that salt air and exercise. Your house is well set up and you have provided many nice little touches to make it extremely comfortable. Rain or shine the decks and barbecue get a good workout. We were lucky with brilliant sunshine but I am sure we would have enjoyed it in the rain. Maybe I would have opened that book. We had a gorgeous stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and there were lots of extras provided. The house is extremely well set up and has excellent cooking utensils, including the BBQ. We would recommend the house to anyone especially with a dog. We would like to thank you for the opportunity of spending three fabulous days at Benjamins Beach House. The accomodation was 5 Star as advertised, with everything on hand to make the holiday perfect. We enjoyed our walks along the beach with our dog each day. The BBQ on the verandah was excellent for early morning breakfasts, lunches and dinners and the outdoor setting was large enough to entertain friends. We took the opportunity to use the large spa.

What a perfect beach house to escape to from Sydney. All dogs had a blast and have not stopped sleeping since we put them in the car to come home. What a treat being so close to the beach. Over the sand dune and nothing but sand and surf for the dogs to play on. Obviously a lot of effort has gone into making this house so suitable for beach holidays – our favourite touch was receiving specially tailored “Benjamins Beachhouse caps”, doggy treats and dog toys on arrival. Breakfasts and sun tanning on the back deck, Lunches on the front deck and dinners inside! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed (and I love to cook). Something that we really appreciated was the cleanliness of the house – there wasn’t any trace of any previous dog odours that one might expect in a “pet friendly house rental”. All features in the house seemed very new and modern. We also really appreciated the book of ideas on what to do, where to eat and how to best enjoy our stay in Culburra. Thank you so much. We most certainly had a fabulous time. We love the house, it is not only really well located but beautifully maintained. You have thought of everything, all the facilities are excellent, modern and very tasteful. It was all very easy, the house is delightful to stay in comfortable and relaxing. Loved the house and the location and the proximity to the beach was great for walking the dogs.The house was very cosy, even on the coldest night and the insulation worked well on sound too- we did not hear the rain or wind from inside. The dogs loved the protected back deck and also appreciated the big kennel, the trampoline and the toys.The appointments in the house were first class and everything had been thought of.The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. Very important too was that the beds were very comfortable. It's not always easy to find quality accommodation that is also pet friendly. We would definitely like to go back.-Cheryl June 07
We had a very relaxing two days at the Beach House. Relaxing on the back deck in the warm sunshine reading books, when not exploring the area.You have thought of everything, magazines and books for the adults, games and videos for the children and not to mention treats and toys for any four- legged friends of Benjamin. In terms of highlights, obviously it’s location, location , location! As the beach was so close it was easy to pop down several times during the day which was fantastic or otherwise it was very easy to relax in the house as it’s in a nice quite spot, which we really appreciated also. The house itself was really well set up and you have gone to a lot of trouble to make sure all human and dog needs were catered for! This was our first holiday with our dogs and we all had a fantastic time! It’s great to be able to go to a house is of such a high standard that we can bring our dogs to also and a beach we can all enjoy. They also loved the backyard, with many places to sniff and scout around - after their days of adventure and our return home this afternoon our dogs are still flaked out and probably already dreaming of their next beach holiday! We had a fantastic break at Benjamin's Beach House. The house was absolutely 5 star. It had everything you could possibly need plus more and was so peaceful and private. With a family of 6 and a dog, it's hard to find a place where there is room for everyone but this place had it. We also loved the games - backgammon, chess, cards and videos, dvds and books for everyone. The highlight was definitely the close proximity to the beach. The kids had a great time with their boogie boards and Tiesha(our 6 month old mini labradoodle) loved the freedom of being able to run wild on the beach. We practically had about 300m on each side to ourselves with the odd couple of people walking past. Thanks for letting us stay at your wonderful house. It is a truly relaxing place and very well appointed. The weather was awesome and I loved waking up each day to sit in the sun on the front balcony and listen to the sound of the sea while I read my book. The children can’t wait for the next trip as they are already planning on which friend they can invite! Our dog had a blast and loved the sea and the sand, even though every visit to the beach was followed by a cold wash with the hose! He was very happy with his trampoline bed and dog house, supplied at the house, as when he wasn’t at the beach he was lazing around in the sun in one of the two places. Benjamin's Beach House was just what we needed. It was spotlessly prepared for us, with lots of extras that helped make our week very relaxing, including a fabulous kitchen where we even cooked a roast! Our dog Jack thought he'd died and gone to doggy heaven when he saw the beach and made good use of it all week, along with the great deck where he took great joy surveying all that was going on in the very quiet neighbourhood. Woof Woof Benjamin!Boy you are one lucky doggy to have your own beach house. We had a ball and were so tired after running on the beach each day, we collapsed each night. Most days we went surfing and found lots of Hermit Crabs and even saw a pod of dolphins swim by.
The humans took us to the "Butter Factory" for dinner and we all sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful meal. We even went for "Fish and Chips" at “Backgate Seafood” in Greenwell Point and the ladies thought we were the most beautiful dogs; they even gave us our own water bowl.Mum says she is going to pass out all your business cards to her doggy friends because we had such a great time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Benjamin's Beach House. The house was perfect for our holiday - sparkling clean, very modern and so well equipped. It was great having the two large outdoor covered decks to lounge on and to dine al fresco. The little extras you supplied like the Vittoria coffee, the dog treats, the caps for each of us, did not go unnoticed. Also having plenty of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, bowls, easy instructions, a well researched resource folder, etc was great.Our two small Bichon Frise pups were also very much at home. They used the kennel and the dog bed, and loved lolling on the front and back decks. Our two families and Oscar doggie have just spent two thoroughly enjoyable weeks at “Benjamin’s”. The outdoor decks encouraged relaxation, bonhomie and sensational outdoor dining where the birds are a delight at all times of day. Appointments inside are great and with an interesting variety of magazines & games, DVD, video & the Aussie Open not to mention the cricket it’s a wonder we made it over the rise to the beach but we did – often, to Culburra beach’s crystal clear waters, dog friendly high-rise free zone! We had a wonderful time and found the house incredibly well designed and easily accommodated our two families and two dogs. We all had space to do the things we enjoyed. The two decks meant the children could run around in the back whilst we enjoyed the sunset in the front with a glass of wine! Our dog rarely gets off the leash in Sydney so to watch her on the beach running free was a great joy. It was lovely to feel that the dogs were welcome at the house and we appreciated the little extras like the toys, kennel etc. I also like the fact that there were not signs everywhere telling us what not to do. However, when we needed to know how to work something, a note with instructions was on hand.The house was very well equipped - every time I went to find something it was there! Now that we know our dogs can travel the distance and that the beach house is so well setup we would love to visit again. The beach was new to the dogs and their delight was obvious - our boxer is 9 years old and weighs 30kg but still leapt about like a pup while our 13 year old bull terrier X cattle dog swam like a practiced champion. Such close proximity to the beach meant three visits a day which the dogs were ready to do each time. The beach house is light and airy with three decks which were all used at some stage each day. The well equiped kitchen made preparing meals a breeze and it was a treat being able to fall into a comfortable firm bed at the end of the day. The location is second to none and the local birdlife a delight to observe at close range from the front deck. We had a great long weekend, and particularly appreciated being able to take our dog with us to the beach. We gave her two large bones from the local butcher which she buried somewhere in the garden for the next lucky dog to dig up. My sister-in-law is visiting Australia for the first time and she liked watching the wattle birds from the back deck. The kids liked solving the puzzles provided. We had a wonderful stay. The house is fabulous and kitted out with everything we needed to have a relaxing time. The magazines and books are a great touch. The weather was wonderful so when we weren't at the beach with the dogs we were sitting out on the deck enjoying the sunshine and birdsong. The dogs loved the beach and were able to have a run and a swim everyday. Top position, top design, top class! We thought Benjamin's Beach House had everything one and one's four legged friend required. I can't think of anything to improve it. It was a very comfortable and well thought out beach house design. The guest book was so informative and much appreciated. I think it's a beautiful beach home, the native plants attract the birds and the proximity to that great beach would make anyone want to come back. The beach was great, but the house is what made the holiday so easy. Benjamin's Beach House looks good, it's contemporary and understated, which is just as it should be. It is also thoughtfully designed, pleasant and most importantly, very comfortable. The kitchen was spotless and spacious, Everything you could possibly need is provided for you; every gadget, every piece of crockery, cookware, including welcoming coffee bags and dog treats.On the subject of dogs, our German Shepherd, Layla had a wonderful time at Benjamin's. She slept well on the back deck (naturally, a trampoline bed and kennel were provided, as were dog bowls and toys) We felt very safe leaving her outside in the secure yard and she settled in quickly and easily. She had never been to the beach before (she was only six months old) but she loved playing on the sand and amongst the waves with our kids. They all dug in the sand and chased each other about.The kids enjoyed their separate sleeping quarters downstairs, complete with their own bathroom. It was a win for everyone. The house would be great for two families as the bed/bunk setup downstairs can accommodate 6 children. If you want a high quality beach house experience, with no fuss, no deprivation and nothing remotely "rustic" or "bristling with old world charm" then Benjamin's Beach House is a must.- Judy April 06
I have to say that the house was wonderful. Everything had been thought of. We couldn't fault a thing. The decor is practical, homely and beautiful and the decks are a fabulous place to unwind. Being close to a pet friendly beach (which we don't have in Sydney) was great and our dogs had a ball body surfing. I'd recommend the house to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax, especially if you have a dog.The website just doesn't do the house justice. My family and l had a fantastic weekend in super high quality accommodation. The house is absolutely stunning and not a thing has been forgotten down to the last detail. The house was more than comfortable for the seven of us and Tess our Labrador was very impressed also!!! The beach house is in a great location so close to the beach and perfectly caters for all guests (even doggy treats and toys). The house is open, spacious and beautifully designed and decorated and the backyard is great for doggy adventures or relaxing (as our Lab does so well). We were all very disappointed to leave on Sunday morning as the weekend went so quickly. However, we have already spoken about returning some time soon! Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We can't speak highly enough of our weekend at the beach house, it was really just perfect - we had 2 families: 4 adults, 6 children (age 6, 6, 8, 8, 11 & 11) and 2 dogs (9 year old lab and 18 month old retriever) and it worked really well on all fronts. We loved the floors, furnishings, bathrooms, kitchen etc and for that many people it was great. We got 10 of us around the tables on the front deck which was also great, even though the children never stay around the table for long! we were so impressed by the whole layout & workings of the house - the dogs had a ball, we loved the short walk to the beach and short drive to the shops, there was plenty of scope for all the kids to spread out (we loved the layout with their bedrooms downstairs!) and the Mums & Dads really enjoyed the kitchen design. Although the weather was very ordinary we found the beach house had masses of room and was very well laid out, we had two families on holiday with 4 children under 5 and a dog, we found that there was plenty of room for the children to play as well as allow the adults room to relax and enjoy.Proximity to the beach was excellent and we had a number of lovely walks with the Rosie (our cocker spaniel) and the kids on the beach.Thanks for the stay we all really enjoyed it (apart from the weather !!) "Your directions were very clear and made it easy to get there. Although it rained on Saturday, we had a very enjoyable stay, and with all the entertainment facilities in the house the children were easily amused. The covered outdoor areas were also good to still be outside and not get wet. Zama, our Border Collie, had a lovely time and enjoyed her facilities too! "Benjamins has all the mod cons you would find in a good hotel but still retains a lovely relaxed "beachy" feel. We did a lot of exploring in land to Berry and further south to Husky and Vincentia but Culburra is very central so its a good base to start from. Harry the dog rated Culburra beach 4 paws - its 2 seconds from the house and we became very fit by the end of the week with our early morning walks! Culinary highlight of the trip, aside from the barbies on the deck, were the oyster shooters at Seagrass in Husskinson. The fish and chip shop around the corner which boasts "best fish and chips" also lived up to its name. Cant wait to get back for another holiday." Jason, Stacey and Harry - Oct 05
"We have just returned from a very happy and successful stay at Benjamin's Beach House. There was loads of room for our two families and the kids to play, even indoors when it rained one day. The house is very well equipped right down to the smallest detail of utensils for us to bake with the children. We had planned to have a meal out, but the facilities and environment were so good we were happy to cook and stay in. My husband was delighted to discover he was able to video record the late night grand prix on a spare cassette and there were good quality magazines for the Mums. "Culburra is a hidden treasure. Ideal place to go if you like long walks on the beach. Make sure you do the walk up to Orient point and if you plan it for low tide you can come back via the coastline.
